Socialization

Participants spend time together with their peers, Certified Nursing Assistants, and volunteers from the community including students from local school systems.

Stimulating Activities

Puzzles, word games, and crafts keep participants engaged and their mind active. Participants with lower cognitive functions are offered custom-tailored activities in higher staff-to-participant ratio groups.

Trips and Guests

Pleasant Day Adult Medical Day Care frequently takes trips outside of the facility for special activities. These trips may include locations such at bowling centers, malls, fishing, library, zoo, and more. When traveling is not an option, guests and programs will come to Pleasant Day and speak to participants.

Educational Classes for Adults

Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care, in conjunction with Chesapeake College, hosts private classes for participants in a variety of subjects including: art, music, computers, health, and more. These classes are available to participants at no additional cost.

Daily Exercise

Every day contains a scheduled exercise routine to keep participants physically active. Higher intensity weekly classes occur every Monday.

Intermediary

Our social worker provides counsel for participants in the event of problems either in the center or in their households.

Mental Health

Our social workers listen and aid participants in finding proper mental health facilities and treatment.

Financial Understanding

Sometimes our participants recieve documentation in the mail and become troubled because they do not understand the writing or ramifications. Our social workers help to make sense of paperwork and help them fill out forms and direct participants to the necessary legal aid if situations so require them.
